I’ve been training with Tyson since 2023, originally starting while pregnant after my husband recommended him based on his own experience and he’s been an excellent coach through every phase since.

He supported me through pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and beyond. He’s been a blessing in helping me adapt to body changes, rebuild strength, and regain confidence in a safe, sustainable way. He brings a grounded, steady presence that’s especially valuable during major life transitions.

When Tyson moved gyms and I later relocated, I briefly trained with others at different gyms and ultimately returned to Tyson because respectfully, no one compared to his depth of knowledge and quality of coaching.

One of my favorite things about working out with Tyson is his knowledge! He’s highly adaptable and educated in the science behind movement, adjusting workouts as needed and explaining the reasoning behind them.  On occasion, I’ve had to bring my daughter due to schedule changes, and Tyson was/is a Godsend keeping her engaged with simple movement activities whiteout missing a beat guiding me! It’s been meaningful to see his positive influence on her early relationship with physical fitness and how much she adores him.

Professional, flexible, and consistently thoughtful. I’d recommend Tyson to anyone, especially anyone looking to meet a fitness goal, maintaining a consistent workout routine or even someone simply struggling while navigating physical challenges and life transitions.

I've never been a gym guy in my life, but I enjoyed working out with Tyson so much that I signed up my college-age son as well!  It's made a huge difference in health and fitness for both of us.

Tyson is a great trainer and has been instrumental in helping me recover from my postpartum pains and regain control of my life. He is really knowledgeable about exercising and rehabilitation, and has helped me do the "minimum effective dose" every week so it's easy to keep my routine and make steady progress.

He is very patient, listens to my issues, and tailors the workout routine to avoid injuries, which is critical given my postpartum conditions and hyper-mobility (injury prone). In 6-7 months i went from having hand and knee pain, to being able to run again and do chores normally.

Both me and my husband see him weekly and we have been making great progress. I highly recommend him to anyone who wants to get stronger, recover from injuries, or just get fitter in general.

I started with Tyson because the gym offered me a free consultation. I stayed because he’s the first trainer who didn’t try to reshape my goals into his own. He simply asked what I wanted — build strength for running without wrecking my running — and built a plan that actually made sense.

Over three years, I’ve gotten stronger, dropped weight, improved mobility, and hit personal bests in running… and that includes bouncing back from a knee surgery way faster than I had any right to. Through all of it, Tyson has been consistent, flexible, and unflappable. If something isn’t working, we change it. If I’m tired, we adjust. It’s always a two-way conversation.

He’s also a genuinely good guy with a better sense of humor than you’d expect from someone who makes you do Copenhagen planks and Romanian dead lifts. My whole family trains with him now, which should tell you everything you need to know.

Working with Tyson over the past few years has been transformational. As opposed to a generic routine set of exercises, his sessions have been specifically tailored to my goals, often updated with new exercises or equipment to create a holistic total-body workout. My strength, balance, and flexibility have increased as well as my confidence in being able to maintain a long-term healthy lifestyle.

In addition to his professional expertise, Tyson is a pleasure to work with; personable, approachable and passionate about providing the very best training results for every one of his clients. I cannot think of a better personal trainer for anyone, no matter your age, fitness level or background. My sessions with Tyson are a highlight of my week and an indispensable part of my exercise program.

Three years ago, at my 50th birthday, I realized that my health was going downhill, and it wasn't going to get better without determined and sustained action. So, I started working with Tyson. Three years later I have fewer aches and pains and random maladies than at any time I can remember... certainly back to my twenties. I attribute most of this to Tyson. He won't push you to do anything that'll injure you. He'll just watch, and listen, and figure out carefully how to make you a little bit stronger, fitter, and more flexible every single day. Work with Tyson: you won't regret it!

I want to express my appreciation to you for opening my eyes with your knowledge and application for an immediate impact on my training program. I was in need of some specific areas of flexibility and muscle growth to help with basic day to day functionality and pain management. The program you dialed up for me provided immediate results and has helped tremendously in my sport and day to day life. Thank you for your being at the right place and right time and looking forward to continued results.

Following a hernia operation this spring, I asked Tyson to work with me to rebuild my core strength. Since then he has taken me through a set of strength and balance exercises that have been very helpful to me in rebuilding my core. He varies the routines during each of our sessions. And he works me until I am thoroughly exhausted at the end of each session — something I wouldn’t do if I were working on my own. In recent weeks Tyson has been adding weight to increase my overall strength and capacity. I am surprised at my age how much improvement I have made in four months. And I am excited to see how much I can continue to improve.

Tyson is smart, friendly, innovative, nonjudgmental and professional.  He is the perfect trainer for me.  Each week he asks me how I am doing physically and tailors the workout for how my body is doing that day.  He studies anatomy and exercise techniques extensively and can always suggest new ways to achieve positive results.  I look forward to my sessions with him because I know there will always be something new to learn and try out.  In addition, he has a great personality and even though I am working hard, the time passes quickly.

Tyson is an intuitive and effective trainer. He always knows when to push me for heavier weights or more reps, and when it is time to stop or pull back. He effectively communicates proper form with the simplest of explanations for better technique. He cares about his clients and wants to work with you to achieve your goals.

40-something working mom of 3 that definitely got stronger and feels better mentally and physically when training with Tyson

I am 69 years old and have two artificial hips and an arthritic shoulder. I thought last winter that I might try to play golf again if I could loosen up my hips, back and shoulders. Tyson and I discussed my goals and he told me about a class that he was teaching focusing on functional strength and mobility. I decided to join and have now attended four different sessions of classes. Tyson assessed our level of fitness and physical limitations and designed workouts that focused on improving those fitness and strength levels. If the first exercise was one that I could not do, he would have a second or third option available to address the same muscle group or body part. The workouts were hard but not unbearable. I was amazed and pleased by how hard I was able to push myself without hurting myself. In just a few weeks I noticed significant improvement in the range of motion I had in my hips, back and shoulders. I look forward to continuing to take classes with Tyson and would highly recommend his classes to anyone who seeks to improve their strength and mobility in a serious but not punishing manner.

I retired at the beginning of this year after 30 years of projects, consulting and managing teams in computer mapping and Geographic Information Systems.  On top of my bucket list was to get back in shape to enjoy a summer of hiking and biking but ended up rupturing my achilles tendon in April playing racquetball.  I had my achilles tendon surgically repaired at the beginning of May and faced up to 12 weeks of recovery starting with absolutely no weight on that foot.  Before the injury I had lost 15 pounds due to daily workouts that included running, elliptical and cycling and knew I needed help to create regular aerobic workouts during my recovery.

Tyson started our sessions by listening to this story, my needs and limitations, and assured me that we could build a series of workouts without having to put any weight on my recovering leg.  We started with free weights and a couple machines, building sets that challenged me to use repetition of upper body exercises to get my heart rate up rather than my legs.  Tyson provided exactly what I needed to stay in shape while staying off my injured leg.  He helped me build multiple routines, explained to me strategies to both build strength and get my heart rate up.  It’s been great to have a personal trainer who listens, is creative, easy to work with yet always there to challenge and help my grow.  Thanks Tyson!

I was new to the whole fitness scene when I joined (Previous Gym).  My experience with Tyson began when he observed a friend and I puzzling over some of the equipment and said, "Hey, would you like some help with that?"  We sure did! He pointed out a few things to try, given our physical challenges and then suggested a 6-week introductory program for us. I followed up with another 6-week program. I'm a 60 years old female, with a few aches and pains.  I'm not concerned about heart health or weight--I just want to strengthen my body and correct some old inefficient tendencies that create ongoing problems.  I want to be able to hike, garden, and just enjoy movement the way my body was intended to move.

Tyson was fantastic at hearing what I said about my goals, what challenges my body has experienced in the past, and how to use the equipment safely so as not to exacerbate old injuries.  I appreciated his knowledge of human anatomy, and his explanations about how the whole body structure works were right-sized so that I could apply them to the work with the machines and on the mat. Tyson was always willing to suggest a different machine or activity if something wasn't right for my particular situation. He was supportive and encouraging without being overwhelming or pushy. He would often stop by when he saw me at the gym to see how things were going and ask if I needed any help.   My experience with beginning a work-out program was great because of Tyson, and it resulted in a routine that can be sustainable.  I am looking forward to working with him in the future as I create new goals for myself.

I became a client of Tyson’s in the summer of 2018. I joined a small group exercise class at my gym and Tyson was the trainer. I have been training for along time but had never done a group class. I loved it! Even though he was a young, new trainer, I felt like he was knowledgeable and really cared about each person in the class. I have some physical limitations and he was able to work with me so that I got what I needed from the class. Eventually, I started to train with him one-on-one and felt like I was making progress that I could not have made on my own. He has excellent technical knowledge and understands how the body works—this is important in a trainer.

In addition to being a great trainer, Tyson is a wonderful, genuine person. I developed a friendship with him outside the gym which continues today even though he has moved out of the area. I really miss having him as a trainer because he was my favorite.

I went to Tyson as a weightlifting novice recovering from a stomach surgery. During our first meeting, he listened to my story, and quickly came up with an outline for our training. We worked together for the next 24 months, and at every step of the way, he would check in to see if my needs and goals were being met. I continued to hit PR after PR under his coaching.

Tyson is also a very knowledgeable trainer who rapidly adapts to the clients needs. Some sessions, I just didn't have it in me (how many split squats can a person do?), and he would instantly provide me with alternative exercises. Additionally, he helped expand my exercise routine. I had never deadlifted before, and he was able to efficiently teach me the intricate technique while never making me feel foolish. Lastly, Tyson was a very easy person to work with. I always looked forward to our training sessions, and they were never dull and seemed to breeze by.

My Husband and I had the opportunity to work with Tyson for personal training from January 2020 until June 2021. Tyson took the time to listen to our goals and needs in reference to our abilities at our age of 60. He possesses broad-based knowledge, not only of training techniques, but how the body reacts when injured or fatigued. He reinforced the importance of maintaining muscle strength and regular stretching as key to aging gracefully to stay active and healthy. An investment in his expertise has been so worthwhile. We highly recommend Tyson Winder as a personal trainer, coach and instructor!!

Tyson is unlike any personal trainer I've ever worked with. His detailed knowledge of the physiology behind each exercise is way beyond other trainers. When we work on any particular need, he is able to lead me in the best exercises and stretches that are most effective. Most trainers seem to pull from their same routines to try to address clients needs, but Tyson is able to tailor a workout with greater effectiveness. Also, I am 62, and while I want to keep up with younger athletes, Tyson is smart about giving me workouts that keep me from getting hurt. I recommend him with complete confidence.
